I can’t count the number of times I have been working away at my computer and thought “man, I really wish I had some toast right now!” Well… let’s see… maybe I can count it up … … … how about ummm… maybe one.
Oh well, for all those of you who have had the toast craving and couldn’t tear yourselves away from the computer to go and make the toast, then the CrazyPC people have just the thing for you. A one-slice toaster that fits into your available 5.25″ bay. It costs right around $30.
Today everything changed for me. I went beyond asking the question of “why.” Usually, after I see strange things out there on the Internet I ask “why” or “what did they do that for” or “WTF”. But not today - today the only thought that came into my mind after seeing it was “is there a Mac version”? Turns out - not yet, but they are working on it.
Moisten the rims of 4 margarita glasses with lime, then press into sugar. Drizzle raspberry puree around the inside of the glass. Place glasses in freezer to chill.
Combine the ice, lime juice, tequila, Cointreau® and mango in a blender. Blend until slushy.
Pour mango margarita mixture into the chilled glasses. Drizzle raspberry puree on top.
I had always wondered how fortune cookies came about, but I never really got around to looking it up. Well, someone else did and even gave out some fortune cookies to some Chinese people. It seems that fortune cookies are American, so the Chinese were pretty perplexed as to why someone would put paper into their cookies.
You’ve been working on a home remodel job for months. You have most everything done except for the sinks, so you get started on them. But the sinks just prove to be too much of a challenge. What do you do with your house when you can’t figure out how to put the sinks back together? Sell it! Just make sure that when the photographer comes over to take pictures, that they don’t change a thing. Make sure you leave everything as it was - no staging for these people that is for sure.
I have been watching Doctor Who most all of my life. When I was young it showed on the local PBS station. Now that I am a little older it plays on the SciFi channel. What I guess I never realized was exactly how long the show (or versions of it) had been around. However, someone on the Internet was kind enough to put together a pretty amazing tribute to The Doctor and everything that comes with him.
Great White Snark made a point about getting what you asked for - kinda one of those be careful what you wish for warnings. He asked for pictures and commentary about tattoos from his readers. Sadly for him, his wish was granted:
When I began soliciting geeky tattoos from my readers, little did I know that I’d get e-mails from half(?)-naked dudes taking poorly-lit pictures of themselves in mirrors.
This is where hindsight comes in at 20/20.
Anyway, I shan’t complain, because first, I sort of asked for it, and second, it’s my own fault for not starting a blog about nude swimsuit models with birthmarks shaped like Star Wars characters.
Since I like to think of myself as an enlightened sort of person who can learn from others in addition to my own experiences, I am hereby encouraging any of my female readers to send along pictures of them with their geeky tattoos, body-art, piercings, birthmarks, brandings, geeky costumes, or etc - all via email to me. Personally, I like normal women, but swimsuit models are still welcome to send in their stuff - I am not one to discriminate You send them in and I will post about them. If I get enough of them, who knows.
The Periodic Table of Elements just got a little more interesting. Some very fine folks over at The University of Nottingham put together a nifty little table for us to review our elements. Which overall is very nice of them, but they didn’t stop there. They also linked up each one of those little boxes on the table to a video about each one. So not only do you have the table, you also get a nice little video telling you all about it.
novellamarie created a Apple //c version of Pitfall inspired laptop case. This is what she says:
“it’s Pitfall! On an Apple IIC! With your laptop inside!! Perfect!!! This case is fully lined and padded with cotton polka dots. Adjustable red strap. Fits a 13″ Laptop”
It is done in needlepoint and you can buy the one of a kind item on Etsy. I, for one, will not be making the $150 purchase as it wasn’t made to fit my Apple //c.
In case you ever wanted to know exactly what the ghosts were thinking while you were playing Pac-Man, here is your answer. It would seem that Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde are all thinking about how to avoid being eaten by Pac-Man - who would have ever guessed that one. I would have thought that they were thinking where they might go to get a good pizza. Oh well, live and learn.
In honor of the very auspicious day of 888, I went out to the local Chinese market to do a little shopping. I discovered all sorts of interesting food items, but my favorite had Hello Kitty on it! I just thought you might like me to share.
