Pardon the pink

It seems that the color pink is getting drug through the mud:

“But some commentators now believe pink dominates the upbringing of little girls, and this may be damaging.”

Really? Are you sure? Damaging? Oh puhleeze! Pink is just another color. Like any other color before it. Girls can like pink or blue or green or yellow or whatever – it makes no difference. I will admit it. I like pink – some of my very favorite gadgets are pink. I like and have liked lots of other colors too.

In fact, for years my favorite color was black. If you want to blame a color for some damage, you might want to start with that one. At least pink is a little cheerful. But maybe it is too cheerful. Maybe we would be better off with a color somewhere in the middle. What color do you get when you mix pink and black? That will be my new undamaging color choice.

P.S. Hello Kitty has nothing to do with this post other than the fact that I think of her when I think of pink. If you came here looking to get a Hello Kitty Fender Stratocaster Guitar in Pink, then I suggest you go here.

  1. I think I’d rather worry about the damaging effects of ultra-violet rays. Or the damaging effects of earning 75 cents for every $1 a man can make. As for the damaging effects of pink, I’m going to let it slide.

(I like pink, too. Especially if it is spelled fuchsia.)

  2. Great. One more thing to worry about. Wonder if blue is having the same effect on boys.

  3. Life in the Highlands – Hopefully eating enough ice cream will protect all of us from the damaging effects of UV rays 😉

CJ – No one said anything about blue, but I’m sure that will be next week’s new special report: “Wearing blue will kill you faster than eating cheesecake everyday for breakfast” or some such nonsense!

  4. I love pink. Girls look Pretty in Pink…:P
