Electric Peapod
How about this for cute? I like a car with a nice smile. It makes your day brighter when you drive it around. This is the Chrysler GEM Peapod. It will go a whopping 25 mph and will run until it drops at right around 30 miles (this doesn’t sound that far off from the description of a bicycle). It claims to seat four people, but it doesn’t say anything about comfortably. It has so many windows that you would think it was solar (you can even add a sunroof), but it isn’t - it runs on batteries that you plug in to charge. The whole thing is covered under a limited one year warranty with no talk of anything extended. Also there is no talk of price, so you can take your best guess on that one.
It took a little bit of research, but I finally located a brochure (pdf) for the car. It is short on details, but it has tons of pictures. This would make a great little car, if you worked within 10 miles of your house and none of the roads were over 25 mph. Which I believe is about 0.0001% of the population.

Retired people already use golf carts and
many of the 38,000 Chrysler GEM cars
on the road today.
With the price of gas,
the Credit Crunch and
the number of Babyboomers
getting ready to retire,
there maybe quite a large population
that would be interested in
a vehicle like this or a bike.
