Review: Lego Indiana Jones
Last night I picked up the new Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures. I have only played through a couple of levels, but those two levels were a lot of fun. I would recommend picking up your own copy of it to play just so you can look for the hidden Star Wars references. There were at least two appearances of Star Wars characters in the first two levels. One was pretty obvious (C3PO) and the other one was fairly hidden (Luke on Hoth). I may have to go back and replay the first level/story to see if I missed something.
The game is really cute to play, but it is not so cute that you don’t have any challenges. The graphics are great on it. I am playing it at 1080p and everything is very crisp and clean. The game seems to stay with the movies overall, but it isn’t exactly the same. There are some minor differences between the movie and what you do in the game. I like that it is has differences from the movies - this is one of the things that make it interesting to play. You never know exactly what will happen, so you don’t get bored too quickly. The story game portion looks like it won’t take too long to play through - but the free play mode makes up for that. You can go back in and play around after you have finished everything else. The controls are easy enough for the youngsters to figure out and the hidden areas are good for the adult game players. Hard core gamers might like this as a break from their other types of games, but probably won’t find it challenging enough to keep them occupied long. This game is really for the gamers that just want to have fun or need a summer title that the whole family can play.
