Indiana Jones rides again
I went to the first showing of newest installment of Indiana Jones. First thing I have to say about it is that I really liked it! It is definitely worth seeing on the big screen (and at the Warren Theater in Moore, Oklahoma “big” is a bit of an understatement). It is true that Harrison Ford is getting older, but he didn’t try to act like a young man in this movie. Some of the action scenes were a bit of a stretch for what you would consider the abilities of a 65 year old man, but not too much. I think the plot could have been re-worked a bit to make it more interesting, but it did follow in the footsteps of previous Indiana Jones films - namely Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - and this movie had the benefit of NOT having Short Round in it (which makes it a much better movie IMO). Although, it does have Mutt Williams who is by far more entertaining!
If you are at all an Indy fan, you will go see this movie. You will accept the fact that this movie will never top Raiders or Last Crusade and then you will be able to enjoy it for what it is: a long awaited last chapter to a much loved story. This movie leaves you with good feelings without being sappy or over-the-top (which makes it much easier to stomach than watching a chick flick). The verdict on this is to go see it and draw your own conclusions!
