Lesbians of Lesbos

It seems that the some of the people of Lesbos are offended with anyone else being called a lesbian.

“The man spearheading the case, publisher Dimitris Lambrou, claims that international dominance of the word in its sexual context violates the human rights of the islanders, and disgraces them around the world.”

Personally, how exactly is it disgraceful to be in the same category as women who are romantically attracted to each other? Most men would jump at the chance of that. I think that maybe this lawsuit requires a counterclaim…

Geez. Some of my favorite people are women who are romantically attracted to each other. (Besides, I don’t have to sweat the standard Guy Issue of What If Something Happens, because, well, it won’t. For this, gratitude would seem to be in order, rather than resentfulness.)

Methinks the guy is trying to squeeze a few more seconds out of his allotted 15 minutes.

I have been to Lesbos and trust me, this does not surprise me in the least!
