Snoozefest
I was reading this post over at Neatorama (the original source is here) and it got me to calculating (which is never really a good thing - as it takes all my fingers and toes). Part of the post said:
“More than a third of American adults hit the snooze button every morning an average of 3X.”
How many times do I (on average) hit the snooze button? To obtain the answer you first have to understand all the strange nuances that surround my alarm clock. First: the time on the clock is 30 minutes fast. Second: there are two separate alarms that are set just for me on the aforementioned clock. Third: the alarms are set 30 minutes apart, but both are snoozed. Fourth: the second alarm is set to start alarming (is that the correct use of the word?) 60 minutes before I actually need to get out of bed. Fifth: the amount of sleep time between snoozing is exactly nine minutes. Sixth: I am generally pretty close to being on time to work, but it has more to do with me looking at the clock and screaming “oh crap, I’m going to be late” than it does with my alarm clock. The answer to all this: hell if I know, but it is more than three. Which I am absolutely sure means something out there to someone - I just have no idea what. The one thing that I am absolutely certain of is this: tomorrow is Saturday - no alarm clock is required!!
